The 30-Day Touch Challenge is a free, day-by-day soccer training program: roughly 25,000 touches over 30 days, starting at 300 touches a day and finishing at the 1,000-a-day standard that coaches everywhere preach. Every drill needs only a ball and a few square meters of space.
How the challenge works
Each day has a touch target, a short routine of drills, and two or three form cues. Targets climb gradually — from 300 touches (about four minutes) on Day 1 to 1,250 at the peak — so the finish line sneaks up on you. A focused player produces roughly 100 touches per minute, which means even the biggest day is under 15 minutes of work. If you’re new to counting touches, read how to track soccer touches first.
The four weeks each have a job:
Week 1: Foundations
The five moves every touch is built on. 300–600 touches a day.
Start Week 1 → Days 8–14Week 2: Speed
Same moves, twice the tempo. 600–900 touches a day.
Start Week 2 → Days 15–21Week 3: Both Feet & First Moves
Weak-foot work plus chops, cuts, and step-overs. 900–1,000 a day.
Start Week 3 → Days 22–30Week 4: The Final Stretch
1,000+ a day, the final test, and graduation. Make it permanent.

| Week | Focus | Daily targets | Weekly volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 — Foundations | Toe taps, foundations, inside/outside rolls, sole rolls | 300 → 600 | ~3,150 |
| 2 — Speed | Fast feet, change of pace, first touch patterns | 600 → 900 | ~5,250 |
| 3 — Both Feet & Moves | Weak-foot circuits, chops, cuts, step-overs | 900 → 1,000 | ~6,700 |

Built into the schedule: a juggling test every week (Days 1, 7, 14, 21, and 29) so you have a second measurable skill improving alongside your touch count, and a test day at the end of every week to bank your progress.

Who this is for
Youth players roughly 7–15 who want to improve outside of team practice, and parents looking for a structured way to make backyard training actually stick. No coach required, no cones required, no experience required — Day 1 assumes nothing except a ball. If your player has never trained alone before, the guide on getting better at soccer on your own is a good companion read.
Frequently asked questions
Is the challenge really free?
Yes. Every day of the program is published right here — drills, targets, and form cues. No sign-up, no email, no payment. The Master Touch app is a free download if you want to track your touches and streak while you do it.
What age is it for?
It’s written for youth players roughly ages 7–15, but the progression works for any beginner or intermediate player. Younger kids may want a parent to read the day’s routine with them. Not sure how much is right for your kid? See how often kids should practice.
What if I miss a day?
Do the missed day next — don’t skip ahead. The order matters more than the calendar. Missing one day and continuing beats quitting, every time.
Do I need cones or equipment?
No. Every drill in all 30 days needs only a ball and a few square meters — backyard, driveway, garage, or hallway. Day 25 is literally designed for a tight indoor space.
